我举两个例子，都是今天的广告。

第一个广告是这么写的：

这个是找 senior developer，虽然工作证什么都没有写，但是肯定可以办。要求一大堆，看上去很吓人，但是如果 skillsets 对得上的话不妨一试。Aston Carter 对付工作证太有经验了，只要你的简历好，他们就敢往里面送。

第二个，也是今天的广告。

只有在这样的情况下，证据确凿的写了“We regret that this client is not prepared to sponsor work permit or work permit transfer applications.” 那么就不用往里面递CV了。

想弄清楚人家到底给不给办 work permit ，坐在家里面胡思乱想一点用都没有，觉得有可能的，先CV email 过去，然后就拿起电话拨给中介，理直气壮地问他/她:我是 Joe Bloogs，我刚寄的简历你受到没有? 我对ABC的职位很有兴趣，你认为我的经验合适申请吗?

OK，你的英语不好，你怕出丑。但是印度人的英语也不见得比你好，他们却不怕出丑。中介都是英国人，你再有口音，他们也能把你想说的听懂了。他不会当你的面把电话摔掉，最多他许诺等2分钟打回来给你，但是2年后也没有电话，但是那又有什么损失? 最后总有三两个赏识你的中介频繁与你联系，势必把你卖出去，否则隔三差五给你电话，绝不甘休。

最重要是CV怎么写面试怎么应对。但是这是另外的问题，不在此专题开课。

比如说你会 C++，你在搜索一栏输入 C++ and London，出来 300 条广告，怎么办？

(1) 首先是要看懂广告。还是昨天那个例子。

C# Developer, Front Office Derivatives, Investment Banking Permanent
这是说明该职位出於 front office。Derivatives 是说 options and futures，不是 cash equities 。你若被选中，就早点准备起早贪黑，早上七点到晚上七点。若不幸是goldman ，你晚上十点能出来就非常幸运。但是 gs 的工钱好，不怕老的快的都可以一试。

Essential - 1yrs C# with 5 years OO (C++ or Java) experience.
这是说一年C#, 五年的 C++ 或者 Java，若没有5年，工钱要得低一点，也不是就不能尝试。他这里提到OO，到时候面试一定问你什么是 encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism。

You must be very strong in C#. Must have excellent 1st Class/2:1 Degree in Computer Science or similar.
1st Class/2:1 Degree的学位做不了假，中介和人力资源部都喜欢 1st and Distinction 的字样，所以这里的同学，如果还在念书的，考试前请务必努力，捧烛夜读也要弄个 1st 。

Must have banking preferable - Front Office experience is highly desirable, as is knowledge of equity derivatives.
这是说如果没有 front office 的经验，internship 也是管用的。连 intern 都没有做过，至少要会推 black scholes PDE and understand those Greek Letters 。会书面考试 black scholes PDE。实在什么都不懂就去买一本 Hull 的 options and futures and other derivatives 。

Booming investment bank need a technically excellent C# Developer to join a small development team working in Funds - Equity Derivatives.
Small means small. 说明这个组很小，三个到四个人，一个 team leader，你最好在面试的时候 (when asked where do you see yourself in 2/5 years time) 表示 you are happy to stay technical, dont think you want to be a manager。

This is a Front Office Role, high interaction with the business in a bank committed to the future of C#.
high interaction with the business means you will be slapped by the traders, who will treat you as their bitch.
You need 5 years OO (Java or C++) experience for the structured approach and must have banking experience with Front Office experience or the aptitude, communication skills and desire to make that change. Couple with the academics to demonstrate your aptitude.
这是说实在没有金融经验，只要态度好念书做事一贯口碑好是个优秀分子，也可以考虑。

这是说拼命卖命吧，年终奖金应该很不错，如果你面红耳赤地去争取的话。

看懂广告，你再决定这个是不是合适你的工作，否则没有道理浪费自己和别人的时间。

然后你拿出来你的CV ---- 象散文小说一样十六页纸头，送过去人家猎头公司一看就晕了。你不是太博学，学问要用六张A4才写得完，就是罗罗嗦嗦不切中要领，两种情况下人家都不会多看你。CV要短，两张纸足够。一个人至少要准备五六种不同格式的CV，以备不同情况下用。语序不同侧重不同而已，但是不能不懂装懂闭门造车 --- 没做过就是没做过，必须诚实。

下面与中介打交道，首先中介都是傻瓜，如果中介都明白他们自己在说什么要什么，太阳都会西升。中介统统都是 buzzwords/key words driven 。他们都用很奇怪的软件，专门在自己数据库的两千份CV里面搜索关键字。他要关键字，你就给他关键字 --- 列举自己会的所有技术，分别多少年经验。他拿着你的简历，看着公司的 job spec ，专门看人家要求的关键字你这里是不是都有。缺一个，他送去人家HR都会丢进 bin 。是这样，哪怕你觉得傻瓜都会 HTML ，如果人家要求 HTML，你就必须把这个写在显眼的地方。他们往往送两三份不同的CV给HR，HR往往用十个八个中介。

HR比你的中介更加愚蠢，她们不懂IT，也不可能懂得IT。她们管招本公司的清洁工，会计，秘书，部门经理，科学家...... 她们认为你应聘IT最后只会为她们解决打印机为什么不运作的问题。她们的共同爱好是喜欢 CAMBRIDGE，OXFORD，LSE，IMPERIAL， UCL，LBS，AND INTERNATIONAL的字样。还有，她们喜欢 PHD。但是，她们的口袋里面都有一个红本本，里面秘密地写着十个学校的名字，凡是那小名单以外的都很难得到面试。这个对GRADUATE TRAINEE的位子尤其重要。这里偶又要腔，如果能弄到1ST OR DISTINCTION，不惜代价地也要努力。HR一统搜索后，挑出她们认为不错的十份八份CV，送到LINE MANAGER手里。

你的LINE MANAGER肯定是个很忙的人。

你的CV，在他的桌上，他是不会看的。

他用15分钟扫描10份CV，专门挑他喜欢的。他也许没有明确的偏爱，但是在他的头脑里他有自己的理想CANDIDATE的模式。他在找：JOE BLOOGS，PHD COMPUTER SCIENCE，5 YEARES C++，1 YEAR C#，FRONTOFFICE EXPERIENCE。

就再也没有了。

你写得手都断掉了，他其实只是扫描这三句话。他在10秒钟如果内找不到，那么你面试的机会几乎为0。

出於某种原因，他居然喜欢你的CV，中介安排你电话面试，你就已经有了20%的机会。

现在你被安排一个电话面试，你开始紧张，晚上都失眠。其实不必。电话面试都很短，基本上10分钟内，问你都有些什么经验，做过那些项目，会那几种技术。你手里需要拿一份自己的CV，原封不动地把CV的内容再用“不同的语言”重新说一遍。

英语不好不要紧，但是一定要听懂问话，回答时语言清楚。英语不好和答非所问是两个概念。当碰到不懂的问题，请他重新说一遍。不会回答时就说：我没有实际工程的经验，但是学校的课程有教过。如果他问，学校都有教什么。你的回答不是把课程表从头到尾念一遍。你的回答要有侧重。你说，我的课程，专门注重编程，我95%的时间都用在 Java (C++/C/C#) 上面。你再说，学校的课程很好，对数据结构也注重，你们用的是 Oracle 9i (Sql server 2000, MySql ...)。 9i 也都要说出来，虽然你除去 version number 什么都不懂。如果你做过项目，就详细说：
1. the architecture of the project
2. interface, features, in which lanague its written
3. any middle tier, what does it do, in which language is it written,
4. back end, which relational database, do you use stored procedures/triggers... and why
.....
the list can go on.

他的问题问完以后，你开始提问，势必把他询问整整两分钟，表达你对这个工作的兴趣。完后就完了，此事不由你控制，也不必写信过去表示感激，那是花旗国的做法。暗自求上帝保佑你的中介会打回电话给你叫你进去面试。

你居然被通知去面试，说明人家对你有真正的兴趣。如果是中介公司叫你去她们那里面谈就免谈，你说你非常非常的忙以后的20年都不会有时间。

面试时候穿得整齐一点，你三年前从中国带来的皮鞋要重新换过，你的西装样子肯定已经过时，现在正好再买一套。穿得整齐不是花枝招展，lip gloss 太亮香水太浓，会叫人不禁联想，这个女生是来做什么的呢？

原则是要叫自己看上去和面试你的人相似，她穿什么你也穿什么，女老板总是穿长裤你就不要穿超短裙，男老板用 cufflinks 你也得用 cufflinks。当然进去之前，你也不知道他/她穿什么，总不能匆匆忙忙 do a runner 跑去卫生间换衣，这位也许穿 t shirt 戴美式橄榄球帽，所以这点是比较难把握。

容易把握的是你自己做充分的面试前准备。务必详细地知道自己的优点弱势，做好功课，收集可能出现的一切面试技术问题，不能三言两语就被问住。

现在外面阿猫阿狗找工作的太多，鱼龙混杂，没有办法的情况下每个公司都有书面考试。如果你的工作随便聊聊就来了，count yourself lucky。

投行的书面考试不仅考电脑，还要考金融。一般情况下，5/6张A4的卷子，给你半小时，看你能做出多少。软件公司只考技术，不考 business knowledge ，但是软件公司(比如Logica - 偶始终认为 logica 那种地方是最好的培训基地，偶当年选择其他公司，没有去那里，到现在还后悔。 )的技术题难度有时更大。

如果是新毕业生，势必被考到语言数学逻辑之类，相信我，那是最容易不过的部分。随着经验增长，考试的题目也越来越难。

书面考试的同时会有面对面的面试。两三个人坐下来围攻你 --- business analyst, your line manager，risk manager , some flow/derivatives trader，至少两三个问题要问得你哑口无言，那是他们的目的 anyways。软性的问题有时似是而非，他们的目的是把你难住，看你的反应有多慢多快。他们中间不太说话的那个人往往决定最后要不要你。

这个时候，只能乞求时间赶快飞过去，叫我们不再遇到试探。
