I remember 2 years before when preparing 'mail shot', our supervisor
gave us a presentation. Many details been left off, but one thing
he said still hitting me sometime.
He said, 'You must be prepared for a scale of 100 to 200 letters',
not included emails. Your chance is about 1 to 2%. It doesn't mean
there will be 1 or 2 positions for you, but 1 or 2 potential employers
showing interests and response to you postively. In fact, every
reply you got should be regarded as a success and reward to your
hardwork...'
That was the winter of year 1999 to 2000, while dot com bubble
still brusting.
I also remember at that time the first thing I did every morning
was run down to peginue hole to count the number of letter I recived.
It is even harder now, prepare for the hard flight.
May the power be with you!
